Stitched City is Michael Meyer's third book of photographs from Seoul, following Under Long Shadows and Seoul Welcomes You. It blends the classic dark street aesthetic of Under Long Shadows with the conceptual themes from Transigrams. In these images Meyer pushes his camera's built in panoramic stitching function to its breaking point where glitches in the technology become apparent, creating images where perspectives collapse and the frame of time is expanded. The dynamic stage of Seoul's streets in conjunction with the glitched technology allows for images that encompass myriad "decisive moments" from multiple vantage points. They challenge the objectiveness of the camera (and its operator) as well as the idea of a single objective truth.
